2013-2014 Australia Skilled Occupation List (SOL) released

Annual Update of Skilled Occupation List – 1 July 2013

The Skilled Occupation List

The Skilled Occupation List (SOL) will change from 1 July 2013, with five occupations to be removed. The SOL determines which occupations are eligible for independent and family sponsored skilled migration.

The updated SOL is based on expert advice from the Australian Workforce Productivity Agency (previously known as Skills Australia). The list of occupations reflects the Australian Government’s commitment to a skilled migration program that delivers skills in need in Australia. The SOL will continue to deliver a skilled migration program focused on high value skills that will help to address Australia’s future skill needs.

  1. respected sir/mam,
i am planing to apply for MASTERS OF LABORATORY MEDICINE in AUSTRALIA. As of now it is listed in australian skilled occupational list i.e in 2013 -2014 list.
    So, my question is
    a) how this gonna help me in gettn PR as it is listed in skilled occupation list for 2013 -14…how many points i get for this.
b)IF IT is removed frm 2014-15 list…do the rules of 2013-14 apply to me as i have started my course when it was present in that list or it doesnt apply as it is removed by the end of my masters.
c)what are the chances of it removed from SOL list?

    • 1. As of Now u are Bachelors in laboratory Medicine and u dont have relevant experience u are not eligible to apply for Australia PR as Australia PR needs two years of experience.

      2. by the time u complete ur Masters in laboratory medicine may be this occupation may be / may not be listed in SOL I or SOL II

3.As u have started the course in 2013 it doesn’t mean that the rules are applied to you because student visa and permanent resident visa are two different things.

4.once u complete ur course i suggest u to work and get atleast two years of experience to apply for PR Visa

5.Because bachelors of laboratory medicine and two years of relevant experience with an ielts band of 7 individual and ur occupation if listed in SOL I or SOL II might have more chances of getting PR visa under different sub classes.
